If you are facing homelessness or worried about losing your housing, you are not alone and you do not have to figure out the system by yourself. Begin with one of the resources below. They may help you get connected to a housing resource in Kent County.
The 211 helpline is a free, 24/7, confidential helpline that connects you to local services across West Michigan.
Available in multiple languages. Learn more at hwmuw.org/211
Kent County’s online front door to housing services. Works on any mobile device or computer with access to the internet.
Completing this form is only the first step in being considered for a resource through Coordinated Entry. Housing may not be immediately available and is not guaranteed.
Shelter and Outreach staff can help you complete an assessment, or you can contact The Salvation Army Housing Assessment Program at (616) 454-5840.
KHC provides a structure for a rich network of community partners to collaborate, plan, and improve the homelessness response system. Membership is free, and we encourage you to get involved.
Nonprofits, service providers, and government agencies join as voting members, shape system policy, and serve on the committees where decisions get made.
Community members, such as people with lived experience of homelessness, retirees, or advocates who simply want to be involved join as voting members too.
Membership earns you a seat at the table and gives access to the committees where decisions are made. Membership must be renewed annually to maintain voting privileges and committee participation.
All meetings are open to the public whether you join or not, but only members are allowed voting privileges.
